The delegation of Ukraine to the OSCE has been shedding light on the illegal military activities of the Russian Federation and its forces in the Donbas region of Ukraine. These activities entail the use of purely Russian weapons and equipment systems, transferred to Ukraine by Russia through the uncontrolled segment of the Russian-Ukrainian state border. Due to the ongoing severe and persistent restrictions by Russian proxies of the freedom of movement of the SMM in the temporarily occupied areas of Donbas, many of these supplies remain concealed from the international community. However, the SMM UAVs regularly reveal traces and routes of these supplies and Russian military means which are delivered by them.

At the plenary meeting of the Forum for Security Co-operation, held on 11 March 2020, the presentation on illegal Russian military presence was demonstrated and further distributed among the participating States.

The information available via the links is based primarily on the SMM reports, which feature Russian weapons and equipment systems in the conflict area. These means are widely used by the Russian occupation forces to interfere with the SMM UAVs which lead, in some instances, to the loss of these expensive equipment.

These undeniable facts of Russia’s direct involvement in the conflict should reinforce our firm stance in maintaining and strengthening the international sanction regime against the aggressor-state until full withdrawal by Russia of its armed formations and weapons and de-occupation of the sovereign territories of Ukraine.
