Ukraine has officially informed the International Atomic Energy Agency about Russia`s drone attack on the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant on the night of February 14. The strike damaged the New Safe Confinement, which covers the "Shelter" structure over the destroyed fourth reactor of the CNPP.

According to preliminary assessments, the structural damage has not led to an increase in radiation levels. However, the attack poses serious threats to nuclear security. While radiation levels remain under control, the situation remains alarming.

Ukraine considers this attack an act of nuclear terrorism by Russia and calls on the international community to take decisive action.
