On 5–6 October, Emine Dzhaparova held a number of OSCE meetings in Vienna
During the talks with Deputy Chairperson of the OSCE Permanent Council Erida Dobrushi and Officer-in-Charge / Secretary General Tuula Yrjölä, the issues of Crimea and parts of Donbas, temporarily occupied by Russia, were discussed in detail. It was noted that the OSCE remains an important platform for consideration of the conflict-related issues and usage of the Organization’s toolbox for facilitating its resolution.
Special attention was paid to the activities of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine and impediments to its work by the Russian illegal armed formations, in particular in the areas of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions adjacent to the border. Emine Dzhaparova asked to consider the possible options to intensify the Mission’s activities as regards reporting on the situation in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, occupied by Russia.
In the course of the meeting with the Albanian Chairmanship, the sides have also shared their positions with a view of the forthcoming OSCE Ministerial Council in Tirana.
First Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine held a separate meeting with several Permanent Representatives to the OSCE. She presented the “Crimean Platform” initiative and called to join its activities.
