The meeting took place on 5-6 December 2019 in Bratislava (Slovak Republic)
In his statement to the plenary meeting of the Ministerial Council, Vadym Prystaiko has highlighted Ukraine's priorities in the OSCE, mainly stemming from Russia's ongoing violation of the OSCE principles and norms of international law, outlined the political and diplomatic efforts undertaken by the OSCE and its structures to counter Russia's aggression, and shared expeсtations of the Ukrainian side on the planned Normandy Four summit.
Foreign Minister of Ukraine held a number of bilateral meetings to discuss the topical issues of cooperation with the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Foreign Ministers of the Holy See, Greece, Ireland, Luxembourgh, Poland, Sweden and Czechia, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, US Acting Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs, and ODIHR Director.
Vadym Prystaiko took part in the working breakfast of the heads of delegations of the Eastern Partnership countries with the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy to share views on the further development of the Initiative, and in the joint activities of the "Group of Friends of Georgia" to reaffirm strategic partnership between Ukraine and Georgia, in particular on the issue of countering Russia's occupation of parts of the territories of our countries.
Ukraine initiated the ministerial level side event "Ukrainians – political prisoners: Way to freedom" with participation of Kremlin's former political prisoners Oleg Sentsov and Roman Sushchenko. The presence of several Foreign Ministers and Deputy Foreign Ministers, including Foreign Ministers of Sweden and Poland (future Chairpersons-in-Office of the OSCE in 2021 and 2022 respectively), the head of the US delegation, the OSCE RFOM, combined with active engagement of mass media, allowed to draw attention at the political level to the urgency of the immediate release by Russia of all illegally detained citizens of Ukraine. While sharing their personal stories of staying in Russia's illegal custody, O.Sentsov and R.Sushchenko called upon the international community not to forget about nearly one hundred of Ukrainians and Crimean Tatars remaining behind the bars in the territory of Russia and in the temporarily occupied parts of Ukraine. The side event was marked by active participation and close attention of the OSCE delegations and mass media.
Vadym Prystaiko has also delivered a statement to the US-organized side event on hybrid threats, in which he shared Ukraine's experience in addressing the challenges of the hybrid warfare initiated by Russia.
