Issues to be discussed during the session include expansion of international scientific and technical cooperation in the field of space related activities, long-term sustainability of outer space activities as well as developing the ‘Space2030’ agenda
The delegation of Ukraine at the 56th session of the Scientific and Technical Subcommittee consists of representatives of National Space Facilities Control and Test Center and the Permanent Mission of Ukraine to the International Organizations in Vienna.
In its statement during the session Ukrainian delegation informed the Member States on the results of international cooperation of Ukraine in the field of peaceful uses of outer space throughout 2018, underlined the importance of expanding the geography of such cooperation and deepening the existing relationships as well as draw attention of the Committee to the necessity of ensuring full and unconditional implementation of international law in the course of its work.
“We strongly encourage Committee to ensure that none of its frameworks should ever be used for legitimating of dialogue with the individuals, businesses and state officials implicated in gross violations of norms and principles of international law, and against whom international sanctions were imposed”, - said the representative of Ukraine.
The delegation of Ukraine plans to make a number of scientific and technical presentations as well as have meetings in the Committee to promote national interests in the space sector during the 56th session of the Scientific and Technical Subcommittee.
