President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko met with OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Angelino Alfano

The Head of State congratulated Italy on the beginning of the OSCE Chairmanship and thanked for including the settlement of the situation in Donbas in the priorities of the OSCE. Special attention was paid to the deterioration of the human rights situation in Crimea temporarily occupied by Russia

The President informed the Italian Minister on the situation in Donbas and praised the decision of Angelino Alfano to visit this region affected by the Russian aggression on 31 January, 2018.

The parties discussed the priorities of the bilateral interaction. The Foreign Minister of Italy praised the intensification of the activities of the Italian business in Ukraine as a result of the improvement of the investment climate through the holding of successful reforms.

The Head of State thanked the Italian representative for supporting Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, particularly for co-authorship in respective UN GA resolutions and on the issues of European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
