Ukraine is ready to host international observation missions at early Presidential elections in Ukraine in May

In accordance with the decision of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine №757-VII of 22 February 2014 the early Presidential elections in Ukraine are scheduled for 25 May 2014.  

In line with the 1990 Copenhagen Document and the 1999 Istanbul Document, Ukraine extended an invitation to the OSCE participating States, the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights and the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly to observe the aforementioned elections.

The ODIHR is preparing to deploy an Election Observation Mission which is due to commence its activities in Kyiv on 19 March 2014. The delegations from the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, as well as from other international organisations and participating States will also observe the election process.

The Government of Ukraine is committed to make every effort to ensure free, transparent and democratic elections in accordance with the internationally recognized standards for democratic elections. Ukraine stands ready to provide all necessary assistance to the work of the international observers.
